St. George's Church Bicknoller
A favourite of the many ancient churches we found while walking. Parts of the building of the church can be dated from the 12th century--it has a 1,000 year old Yew and, under the tree, can be found the old village stocks.
we are two australian academics with a love of walking and Romantic poetry. The Lake District was a little too Wordsworth for us (and too expensive) so we decided to take the less travelled path (apologies to Robert Frost) and walk the Coleridge Way. Coleridge was a prolific walker so this may be the start of many walks to come.
