Day One-finally we are at Nether Stowey
The plaque on the wall of the Coleridge Cottage at Nether Stowey. Opposite the Ancient Mariner pub (which we didn't frequent) and down the road from our great first b&b The Old House, a good start to the adventure.
we are two australian academics with a love of walking and Romantic poetry. The Lake District was a little too Wordsworth for us (and too expensive) so we decided to take the less travelled path (apologies to Robert Frost) and walk the Coleridge Way. Coleridge was a prolific walker so this may be the start of many walks to come.
