I wonder what the ancient mariner would sound like huffed and puffed over in those lanes he knew so well. I think you should have a slide night when you return. we are two australian academics with a love of walking and Romantic poetry. The Lake District was a little too Wordsworth for us (and too expensive) so we decided to take the less travelled path (apologies to Robert Frost) and walk the Coleridge Way. Coleridge was a prolific walker so this may be the start of many walks to come.
